Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the question of what one should do after attaining the Truth—whether to remain silent or speak—is a futile one. He clarifies that if one has truly attained the Truth, the individual 'you' ceases to be the doer. All subsequent actions are then performed by the Truth itself. If you find that you are still the one making decisions and acting, it signifies that you have not genuinely attained anything. The question of whether to remain silent or tell others is therefore irrelevant, as for those who attain the Truth, whatever needs to be done is done by the Truth itself; you do not have to do it. The instruction to 'be silent' is directed at the individual ego. It means that you, as the doer, should remain silent and allow the Truth to speak. If you speak, you will only cause harm to yourself and others. Similarly, if you forcibly restrain yourself from speaking, you will also cause harm, because the ego is still the agent. The fundamental issue is not about speaking versus not speaking, but about why you continue to assume the role of the doer. You are not meant to be the doer. To be silent is to let the Truth express itself, which it will do in many beautiful and appropriate ways, far better than the individual ever could. The very emergence of the dilemma, 'I have found the Truth, now what should I do with it?' is a clear indication that one has not yet found it. The nature of Truth is the dissolution of all dilemmas. To have a dilemma about the Truth itself is a contradiction and reveals that one is still in a state of doubt.
