Description

Acharya Prashant explains that almost everyone is enslaved and seeking freedom, yet humans often resist true liberation. He notes that while people might oppose being physically bound, they offer the most violent resistance when someone attempts to break their internal psychological chains. This is because humans have identified themselves with their bondages; without them, they feel suffocated. He asserts that giving someone freedom is a dangerous and often fatal task because the person being liberated cannot forgive the one who takes away their old identity. True internal transformation is akin to death; the old, enslaved personality must die completely for freedom to emerge. Therefore, one should not expect gratitude from a liberated person, as the one who was a slave is no longer there to give thanks. The silence that follows the cessation of inner turmoil is the only true sign of gratitude. He further discusses the paradox of human freedom, stating that we are essentially free, but we use that very freedom to choose slavery. By constantly seeking something—whether it be money, status, or relationships—we affirm our lack of freedom. The objects we seek are merely symbols of a deeper search for liberation, yet the act of seeking itself distances us from our true nature. Acharya Prashant emphasizes that the soul is inherently free, but our experience depends on what we choose to identify with. He warns that the journey to liberation is not for the weak or those seeking comfort; it is a 'blood-soaked' path of total transformation. He concludes by stating that in a state of true freedom, the thought of 'how to become free' disappears, just as someone already on a train stops wondering how to board it.
