Description

Acharya Prashant defines Dharma as the process of ascension, where an individual rises from their animalistic tendencies toward their true nature of pure consciousness. He explains that human life typically begins from an incorrect center rooted in biological evolution and nature. Therefore, the journey of Dharma is about unbecoming what one has erroneously become and reaching the state where one is truly located. Adharma, conversely, is anything that keeps a person tied to their animal center or the 'center of the jungle.' Regarding the Kurukshetra war, Acharya Prashant clarifies that it was not fought for personal rights, revenge, or traditional justice. Shri Krishna’s decision to support the Pandavas was based on the potential impact on the entire population. Since Hastinapur was a central and powerful kingdom, its ruler's policies would influence millions. Shri Krishna saw that power in the hands of Duryodhan would lead to rampant, all-pervasive Adharma by stimulating the animal centers of the masses. The war was a necessary measure to prevent future havoc rather than a means to settle past grievances or family disputes. Acharya Prashant emphasizes that Shri Krishna’s justice is Dharmic rather than traditional. While traditional justice might favor the eldest son or specific rituals, Dharmic justice prioritizes wisdom and righteousness. Shri Krishna would have supported any Dharmic individual for the throne, regardless of their birth order or traditional claims, because the ultimate goal was the spiritual well-being of the subcontinent. The war was fought to ensure that the leadership of the state would help the population navigate the path of Dharma and the rise of consciousness.
