Acharya Prashant explains that the Self manifests in two forms: Illusion and the Guru. Both are essentially the same truth. He clarifies that it is incorrect to blame the Self for entrapment while crediting the Guru for liberation, as the Guru is not distinct from the Self. One can reach the Self either by cutting through Illusion or by falling in love with the Guru. Both hatred for Illusion and love for the Guru serve as valid methods to reach the ultimate truth because both establish a connection. He emphasizes that the Truth itself is unknowable and beyond human emotions; therefore, one cannot directly love or hate it. Instead, emotions can only be directed toward what is perceivable, such as the Guru or Illusion. The path of knowledge involves detachment from Illusion, while the path of love involves supreme attachment to the Guru. Both paths lead to the same destination, and combining them accelerates the process of reaching the Self.
