Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the universe exists only for the ego; the universe is the object to the eternal subject called the ego. He clarifies that when the ego is said to move from one body to another, it simply means that bodies keep changing while the ego tendency remains. The ego associates itself with various bodies and constitutions, completing the sentence "I am X" based on its current association. He describes a model where truth is represented as a point or nothingness with no spatial existence. From this non-duality, maya arises as the first duality: the mother ego tendency or ahamvritti as the subject, and the entire universe as the object. The ego tendency attaches itself to the infinite particles and forms within the universe, claiming identity with them as they rise and fall in the stream of time. He further asserts that the ego tendency is an eternal presence in the field of space and time. Even if all biological life were annihilated, the ego tendency would persist in the material itself, as every particle carries this potential. He illustrates this by noting that even a stone possesses the ego tendency, which eventually manifests as life under opportune circumstances. Regarding liberation, Acharya Prashant emphasizes that it is not about reaching a specific coordinate or destination but about the direction and speed of one's movement. He explains that liberation lies in the movement toward the truth rather than in its final achievement. This journey is not a mathematical calculation of progress but a heartful tumble that eventually transcends intellectual models and calculations.
