Acharya Prashant explains that the constant chanting of the Lord's name, as advised by Gurus and Shri Krishna, is a method to occupy the mind so that it has no space for the worldly objects that typically attract it. He points out that humans are constantly praising something—be it a dress, food, or material possessions—and this admiration is the root of desire. By immersing oneself in the praise of the Divine, worldly attractions begin to appear out of place and vulgar, creating a healthy contempt for the superficial temptations of the world. Spirituality, he suggests, is about freedom from these impressions and refusing to be a 'fan' of anything other than the Truth.
