Description

Acharya Prashant addresses the question of why videos with abusive language are going viral on platforms like YouTube and TikTok. He explains that abuses are a form of communication. There are many levels of communication, such as silence, touch, gestures, language, and sound. The method of communication one chooses depends on two things: who you are and who the other person is. The highest form of communication is silence, where a conversation can happen without speaking. Other forms include touch and gestures. To illustrate his point, Acharya Prashant uses the analogy of a donkey. If you are a donkey, you can only communicate by braying, as that is the only language you know. Conversely, if you are a human trying to communicate with a donkey, you cannot use a sophisticated language like Sanskrit; you must use the donkey's language of gestures and sounds. Similarly, abusive language is also a form of communication. People use it for two reasons: either they are not fully human and are like half-animals themselves, or the person they are speaking to only understands that language. A key quality of a human is language. If a person's vocabulary is not rich and extensive, they will resort to abuses to express themselves, just as a donkey brays for everything. When you see videos with abusive language going viral, it means either the creators are like donkeys, or they consider their audience to be donkeys. The fact that these videos become viral proves their belief right, as it shows the audience understands and appreciates this form of communication. This phenomenon indicates a decline in our civilization, consciousness, and the quality of our lives. The speaker points out that the vocabulary of the youth has shrunk significantly. He mentions a study indicating that the average person's vocabulary has reduced from around 100,000 words to about 10,000. This poverty of language reflects a poverty of life. When words are lacking, abuses fill the void. The bankruptcy of consciousness, mind, and intellect is hidden by using abuses. The speaker also references George Orwell's novel "1984" and the concept of "Newspeak," a language stripped of idioms and subtlety, to highlight the degradation of language. He concludes that the viral nature of such videos is a dangerous sign of a declining civilization and consciousness, indicating that the entire young generation is being ruined.
