Description

Acharya Prashant explains that while core spirituality, specifically Vedanta, is a woman's best friend for liberation, mainstream religion has historically been a tool for her oppression. He argues that true spirituality helps a woman realize that her primary identity is consciousness, not her physical body or social conditioning. He notes that women are often enslaved because they identify with their bodies and accept the 'safe nest' provided by patriarchy, which makes them internally weak and dependent. He observes a tragic irony where women often support the very religious structures that exploit them, suffering from a form of Stockholm Syndrome where they fear the price of freedom and prefer the security of their cages. He emphasizes that the path to freedom requires courage and the willingness to face social abuse and insults from oppressors. He advises women to define their basic needs—food, finance, and shelter—and realize that these can be achieved without trading away their independence. He critiques the tendency to prioritize 'family of flesh' and soft emotions over the 'family of spirit' and wisdom. To counter negative social influences and mediocre role models, he suggests that parents should introduce their daughters to high-standard role models from history, science, and literature. By setting high internal standards through education and great books, women can learn to disregard superficial social pressures and pursue a life of true purpose and liberation.
