Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the human task is neither to be good nor bad, but to simply 'not be' in the sense of removing the egoistic self. He describes the body, memory, and intellect as parts of nature that already know how to function. The individual's role is to step aside and become a witness, as nature, which created the body, is capable of running it without the interference of the 'I'. He emphasizes that self-trust is essential, as God or the ultimate truth operates through the individual. This trust is called faith. He argues that the flow of nature is ancient and far more intelligent than the limited 20-30 year old ego, and trying to control life only leads to imprisonment within boundaries. Acharya Prashant further clarifies that being a witness does not mean inaction. Inaction can also be a form of deep ego. Instead, one should let actions happen through them based on understanding and awareness. He defines awareness as a choice—while natural impulses like fear may arise, one has the choice not to entangle with them. He uses the analogy of a crowded bus where one cannot avoid the surroundings but can choose not to cling to them. True awareness is a natural state of being untouched and pure, similar to how a person immediately notices a pinprick without constantly worrying about it. He warns that ego often hides in 'good' deeds and religious settings, and advises that one must remain vigilant against anything that disturbs their natural silence and clarity.
