Description

Acharya Prashant explains that in the domain of Truth, there is no work to be done. Work, by its very definition, implies that something needs to be changed or displaced. However, in the realm of Truth, everything is unchangeable, as it is the final destination, a place of rest. Therefore, any work that is necessary must be related to falsehood, not Truth. Falsehood encompasses everything that is temporary, has come from the outside, and is subject to change. Your real work is located precisely where your falsehoods and weaknesses lie. The task is to remove this 'dirt' from your life. Using an analogy, he states that one cleans a house where it is dirty and rests where it is clean. Similarly, your work is to clean the dirt within your life, and this removal of dirt is the true meaning of work. The speaker contrasts this with the common, childish, and useless definition of work as an activity performed for a salary. The real definition of work, he asserts, is that which removes weaknesses from life. It is about sweeping away the things that shouldn't be there but have appeared. This is the displacement that work entails. If you engage in this true work of removing your falsehoods, it will naturally benefit others, and in turn, your livelihood will be taken care of. To work only for food, clothing, and shelter is to live at the level of an animal. He warns against wasting one's life earning money only to create artificial needs, like an expensive laptop, to justify that life. He criticizes the conventional advice to find one's 'strength areas,' stating that wisdom lies not in finding strengths but in identifying weaknesses and working to clean them up.
