Description

Acharya Prashant explains that since the entire universe and all its resources belong to the one Master, seeking His support is equivalent to gaining the support of the whole world. It is a mark of wisdom to follow the One who controls the many, rather than wasting time trying to please various individuals or entities. When a person belongs to the Master, they are safe within His kingdom. The primary prayer of a devotee is to never forget the Master, for when He resides in the heart, no other influence can prove fatal or overwhelming. He clarifies that while one should place their ultimate expectation and trust in the One, help will manifest through many different forms and people. God does not have physical hands because He is infinite and not a limited entity; instead, He provides assistance through the countless hands available in the world. A wise person accepts help from others, like receiving a letter from a postman, but remains internally grateful to the Master as the true sender. One must avoid the extremes of either rejecting worldly help or making the worldly medium their primary object of devotion. The speaker further discusses the relationship between human consciousness and the universe, stating that the universe has no objective existence independent of the observer. Concepts of size, such as the universe being vast and man being small, are products of the senses and the three-dimensional world. He emphasizes that God is the underlying basis of every moment and every particle. Using an analogy of a father and his sons, he explains that the senses are limited portions of the infinite Divine. Spirituality is the process of the mind realizing its limitations and returning to its source, the infinite Truth. Finally, Acharya Prashant touches upon the necessity of humbling the mind to reach the Truth. He suggests that one must first observe their own condition and the world with clarity. He uses the example of a strong father and a small child to illustrate that those who attempt to cause harm are often suffering themselves. A spiritually strong person can maintain compassion toward those who attack them, recognizing that the attacker is wounded and that the true self cannot be harmed.
