Description

Acharya Prashant explains that attaining the Truth is not like finding an object that you can put in your pocket. The meaning of attaining Truth is that life starts to function correctly. All your small and big decisions become right, and your reactions to various life situations become correct. This is the only meaning of attaining Truth. To fix even a small thing, such as not getting angry when provoked, you have to complete the entire work until the very end. You have to attain the sky itself. Without attaining the sky, earthly problems are not solved. The proof of how much you have attained the sky is how many of your earthly problems have been resolved. When you bring up your earthly problems—getting angry, being deluded, reacting, feeling bad—you are not making a small demand. You are asking for liberation from illusion (Maya). Acharya Prashant uses an analogy from Ayurveda: if you go with a small pimple, they give you a blood purifier. The problem is small, but the treatment is for the whole system. Similarly, if you get angry over a small matter, the treatment is very big. You have to attain the sky. Until you undergo the complete treatment, these small pimples and boils, which are your earthly problems, will keep troubling you. Asking to be free from anger is not a small demand; in reality, you are asking for the sky itself. The journey is long and requires a price. Do not lose heart. Every time you get angry, it is a message that the journey is still incomplete. Keep moving forward. Do not become overconfident or careless. There is pain in moving forward, but there is also pain in turning back, so choose the right pain and keep going. This requires patience (Titiksha), which is a primary quality of a seeker. It is the ability to endure everything for the sake of the one you love, the Truth.
