Description

Acharya Prashant explains that destiny can be viewed in two ways. The first is the common understanding that one must face the consequences of accumulated actions and thoughts, often referred to as the law of cause and effect. However, he suggests a more profound interpretation where destiny is the ultimate meeting with one's true nature. While an individual may endure various joys and sorrows based on past actions, the final destination is a state of absolute rest and peace. This state is the true essence of liberation, where one moves beyond being a sufferer or an enjoyer of consequences. He clarifies that suffering is not the inherent destiny of any individual. Instead, freedom is the universal destiny shared by everyone. People often limit their understanding of destiny to external circumstances like birth, social status, or life events. Acharya Prashant argues that true destiny is the realization of the worthlessness of the ego and the false identities one has gathered. This realization is available immediately if one is willing to accept the truth. Without this acceptance, one remains entangled in the cycle of time, waiting for the results of their actions to manifest. The fundamental problem lies in the sense of being the doer. As long as an individual identifies as the performer of actions, they are compelled to remain in time to experience the results. He advises shifting focus from the action itself to the one performing it. When actions are done without the motive of personal gain or the fear of loss, the sense of doership dissolves. In such a state, actions are performed spontaneously and do not bind the individual to future consequences. Life is then transformed from a burdened struggle into a joyful play, where one is no longer running toward a destination but is already established in their natural state.
