Acharya Prashant explains that choosing one's education or career should not be based on personal profit or popular trends, but on the actual needs of the world. He suggests observing the world to identify which work is truly necessary and righteous to perform. Using the metaphor of a flood, he explains that if the world is drowning, one must learn skills like boat-building or swimming rather than pursuing self-interest. He emphasizes that work should be done because it is one's duty and because not doing it would be a wrong. Regarding helping others, Acharya Prashant advises being cautious about whether the urge to help arises from the soul or the ego. He states that selfless service is the highest form of action and should be continued without doubt. He further clarifies the concept of interest, noting that in a perfect state of peace, no specific interest or restlessness is needed. However, since the world and individuals are currently in a state of crisis—like a burning house—one's interest must be directed toward finding the path to liberation and addressing the immediate situation. He concludes that understanding the reality of one's circumstances will naturally reveal the right course of action and education.
