Acharya Prashant addresses the evolving role of women in Indian society, contrasting the traditional image of the submissive, self-sacrificing woman with the modern, independent woman. He argues that the truth does not necessarily lie in choosing one over the other, but perhaps in a different dimension altogether. He challenges the modern narrative that portrays historical women as purely pathetic or oppressed, noting that while exploitation and lack of rights certainly existed, ancient texts and stories also depict women with significant rights and strength. He cautions against the tendency to paint the entire past black just to make the present appear superior, a practice he likens to 'throwing the baby out with the bathwater.' He emphasizes that while injustices and regressive customs must be removed, essential human virtues like patience, tolerance, forgiveness, and love should not be discarded simply because they were valued in the past. He questions why modern society advocates for tolerance while simultaneously dismissing the traditional virtue of patience. He points out that modern substitutes for traditional values are often worse; for instance, replacing modesty with the sensual display of the body. He warns that rejecting everything old is a dangerous trend, as truth itself is ancient and timeless. He concludes that one should perform 'surgery' on the past to remove only what is rotten or harmful, while carefully preserving what is valuable and beautiful.
