Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the phrase 'Satyamev Jayate' (Truth alone triumphs) is often misunderstood when applied to the worldly, dualistic plane. While Truth is eternally victorious at the ultimate or transcendental level (Paramarthik), in the practical world (Vyavaharik), falsehood often appears to win because of the human ego's self-interest and desires. He emphasizes that Truth in our world is like a small child or a tender plant that requires constant protection and nurturing. One must become like a mother to the Truth within, protecting it from being crushed by worldly influences. He clarifies that spiritual aphorisms from sages describe their own elevated states and should not be blindly applied to one's current ego-driven state without effort and practice. Regarding the donation of one's body to medical science, Acharya Prashant supports the decision if it stems from compassion and the understanding that the body is merely a resource after death. He further discusses the distinction between the body and the self, noting that the body is driven by biological instincts and chemical reactions, while the true self can aspire to higher goals. Conflict between one's higher intentions and bodily laziness is a sign that one is not merely the body. He advises that self-observation (Atma-avalokan) must be practiced with impartiality, often requiring feedback from others to break through personal biases and the 'echo chamber' of the ego. Finally, he asserts that as long as one feels like a 'doer' (Karta) in life, one must take full responsibility for their own spiritual upliftment rather than hiding behind the philosophical concept of non-doership.
