Description

Acharya Prashant addresses the dilemma of whether to plan for the future or remain spontaneous in a relationship. He explains that the nature of a partner's demands depends entirely on the basis of the relationship. If a partner is chosen based on physical attraction or bodily needs, they will naturally seek security, future planning, and social structures like marriage and children, as the body and the fearful mind are inherently driven by survival and insecurity. He uses the analogy of a mosquito or a cow to illustrate that one cannot complain about the inherent nature of what they have chosen; if you choose a fearful partner, they will inevitably demand future security. He further explains that most relationships are rooted in physical attraction, where the male body seeks the female body. This biological drive leads to the desire for nesting and reproduction. To have a relationship free from these mundane anxieties, the foundation must shift from the body to the soul and consciousness. When the basis of a relationship is spiritual, the partner's behavior and concerns also transform. He emphasizes that beauty should be defined as that which leads one toward the Truth, citing the philosophy of 'Satyam Shivam Sundaram'. Acharya Prashant also discusses the necessity of courage and self-love to avoid self-deception and harmful patterns. He notes that intellectual knowledge alone is often insufficient to change one's life because it sits superficially on top of deep-seated habits, like a pigeon on a moving train. To truly stop the 'train' of habitual patterns, one needs a guide or a Guru who is outside of their own mental framework. Only when someone external shows the 'red flag' of wisdom can the momentum of one's conditioned nature be halted.
