Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the common spiritual talk of acceptance is often nonsense because the one who claims to accept still reserves the right to reject, maintaining a position of authority. He asserts that the spiritual mind sees both acceptance and rejection as worthless because they are already happening daily through likes and dislikes. The wise individual recognizes that selection is not a personal act but a result of conditioning, training, and beliefs. When one does not recognize the true selector, they mistakenly assume they are the one making choices, whereas the selection is actually happening like a process in a machine. Acharya Prashant further clarifies that even the attempt to get rid of conditioned behavior, such as choosing not to swat a mosquito, is often just the thinker sustaining itself through a backdoor entry. The thinker may believe he is not there, yet he remains the decider. He emphasizes that instead of enforcing impractical principles like choicelessness, one should understand that choosing will inevitably happen. When the chooser is shown its rightful place, choices become divine. He concludes by suggesting that one should live like a child under the blessing of the father, where there is no need for renunciation or specific commitment, but simply the freedom to play while remaining one with the divine.
