Description

Acharya Prashant explains that when an individual begins to improve themselves, they immediately gain hope that the world can also improve. He suggests that those who claim the world or others cannot change are actually reflecting their own refusal to change. When one experiences the taste of purity and innocence, they naturally desire to share it with everyone. He references Shri Krishna’s teaching that the Divine must manifest when unrighteousness increases significantly. Today, unrighteousness is more dangerous because it is hidden behind a facade of normalcy, unlike in the past. The decline of righteousness is not just the loss of a philosophy but the loss of peace, justice, love, and awareness. He observes that modern society is suffering from deep mental illness, such as depression and anxiety, which people try to hide with forced laughter and external appearances. This mental sickness is directly linked to the physical destruction of the planet. He highlights a staggering statistic: two hundred species are becoming extinct every day, which amounts to ten species every hour. He compares this to the time of the Mahabharata, noting that while Duryodhana’s sins were confined to a small region, today’s unrighteousness spans the entire globe, making a spiritual struggle even more necessary. Acharya Prashant asserts that humanity’s past knowledge and education have brought us to the brink of total destruction, necessitating something entirely new and original. He identifies two main causes for the decline of righteousness: the market of useless consumer goods and the influence of false spiritual teachers. Scientific illiteracy has led people to view science as a competitor to religion, while false gurus have distorted the meaning of scriptures. He concludes that a happy and good life is impossible without truth and righteousness. The current generation is the last one capable of preventing mass destruction, and the void left by the absence of righteousness cannot be filled by material objects from the market.
