People avoid scrutinizing the reality versus deception in their love—how much is of the body, mind, or soul—by claiming that love lacks a universal definition, thus allowing anything to be labeled as such. He dismisses common statements like "love cannot be put into words," "love is just a feeling," or "love is different for everyone" as ways to evade this crucial self-inquiry. Contrary to this belief, he asserts that love does have a clear and simple definition, which can be found by looking beyond cheap poetry to the wisdom of the saints and seers. He quotes Kabir Saheb: "Everyone says 'love, love,' but no one knows love. The path on which one meets the Master, that is called love." He explains that love is the path that leads you to the heights of life, enabling you to become the best version of yourself and elevating your consciousness to its purest and highest state. This is the true meaning of meeting the 'Sahib' or Master. Love is not an event, a person, or an affair; it is the fundamental, inherent longing of your consciousness for peace and liberation, a restlessness you are born with. He further clarifies that fleeting emotions are not love, quoting another couplet: "What rises in a moment and falls in a moment, that is not love. Unwavering love resides in the heart; that is called love." Therefore, any 'love' that comes and goes with the arrival or departure of a person is a lie. This misunderstanding of love stems from a lack of self-knowledge (Atma-gyan) and spiritual knowledge. People's understanding of life is often shaped by films, friends, and family, who may not be wise themselves, leading to fundamental superstitions. Acharya Prashant distinguishes between two types of superstition: external, which relates to the physical world and can be dispelled by scientific knowledge, and internal, which pertains to one's inner world of thoughts and emotions. He argues that this internal superstition is rampant, even among the educated, because they lack self-knowledge. Without understanding who they are, how their mind works, or what the heart is, they live in the delusion of being in love, which is a form of superstition. This internal superstition can only be removed by engaging with spiritual scriptures and honestly observing one's own life.
