Acharya Prashant addresses the concern that festivals often feel like superficial displays involving the waste of time and money. He clarifies that it is not necessary to follow outdated customs or participate in the chaotic way society celebrates. However, he emphasizes that the true meaning of festivals is essential. The human mind does not just want goodness; it needs to declare and celebrate that goodness exists. Without this public expression of joy and auspiciousness, the mind feels a sense of lack. Therefore, festivals are necessary to publicly manifest gratitude and acknowledge what has been received in life.
