Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the word 'Nyaya' (justice) fundamentally means things being in their rightful place. From a spiritual perspective, injustice occurs only when the mind turns away from its center, the Self (Atma). Justice is the state where the mind remains established in peace. If external events disturb your inner peace, you must use your strength to change the situation. However, if you remain calm and cool amidst external chaos, there is no need to change anything, as no injustice has truly occurred to you. The speaker emphasizes that the best way to avoid injustice is to refuse to leave one's 'seat' of inner peace. He asserts that no one can truly commit an injustice against you if you do not grant your mind permission to become disturbed. He further clarifies that 'Sanyas' and 'Nyaya' are related, both pointing toward being in the right place. Peace is the highest priority, and rules may be followed or broken to maintain it. Peace is not a future result to be achieved after a long process; it must be a continuous state. Acharya Prashant also discusses 'Vairagya' (detachment) as the loss of attraction toward restlessness. He argues that the ego actually has a deep interest in remaining restless and incomplete. When we desire an object, we are essentially choosing to remain in a state of longing and agitation. People often seek out disturbances because they find pure peace boring or lack 'spice.' Ultimately, he suggests that we often invent reasons and blame others for our unrest because we are unwilling to admit that we have a deep-seated habit of choosing to be troubled.
