Description

Acharya Prashant explains that while we are quick to accept that the mind gets conditioned very easily, we forget that the mind's own nature is pure. It is for this reason that when the mind gets conditioned and accumulates impurities, it suffers. If accumulating impurities and getting conditioned were the mind's destiny or its very nature, then why would the mind suffer from it? Why would it try to get rid of it? Why would people say they want liberation? Therefore, one should not look at only one aspect, which is that impressions come upon the mind. The effort that arises from consciousness can certainly clean these impressions. This effort has power because the energy it contains is not of the mind, but of the Supreme. Therefore, it would be a mistake to underestimate it. He further addresses the questioner's point about the existence of thousands of books in Buddhism, asking rhetorically if the people who wrote them were fools. They knew that these books could not help anyone, yet they wrote them. This is not the case. He emphasizes the need for a deep faith that the Supreme Being is one. Without this faith, we will have to be fatalistic and will be buffeted here and there. If it is said that 'Truth alone triumphs' (Satyamev Jayate), it is said for a reason. As we know human life, it is a battlefield, and in this battlefield, Truth is destined to win. Nothing other than Truth can ever win because there is nothing other than Truth to win. Even if you lose a hundred times, you are not defeated because the battle you are fighting is not yours. It cannot be lost. Even after losing a hundred times, laugh. Have deep faith in your heart that you will come again tomorrow, in a new form. Even if this body is no more, you will come again. You are the one who comes again and again. The work of Krishna is not yet complete. He comes back again and again. Do not become like Shalya, the charioteer of Karna, who constantly demoralized him. The society within our minds is like Shalya, constantly telling us that we cannot win. Do not be afraid of these voices. They are like monkeys, restless. A single roar is enough to make them fall from the trees. This should be your relationship with society. They are children who have gone astray. You can have compassion for them, but do not be afraid of them. You have the right to celebrate, so celebrate fully. Your life will be a celebration, while their lives will remain an empty cup.
