Description

Acharya Prashant explains that every individual is like Arjun, trapped in their own emotions, past, and physical existence, which leads to a forgetfulness of their true duty. He asserts that one's deepest identity is always safe and inviolable; however, humans possess the unfortunate power to choose something other than their real identity. This choice to believe in concepts and mental frameworks instead of taking refuge in the real self is the source of shame and suffering. He uses the analogy of a leaf to explain that just as a leaf's life juice is the proof of its roots, a person's physical and psychological being is the proof of the great truth. He emphasizes that a silent mind is the final proof of divinity and the Atman itself. When the mind wanders and searches for holiness through intellect and memory, it moves away from its true nature. He warns that living in paradigms causes one to lose out on paradise. Using the metaphor of a mobile phone, he illustrates that people often prefer keeping an image or concept of the divine rather than answering the actual 'call' of truth. He concludes that one must drop all images and concepts to truly connect with what is real.
