Acharya Prashant explains that thoughts are inherently not the truth, yet individuals often hold onto them as if they were absolute. He points out that the most fundamental thought people cling to is the belief in their own existence, or 'I am'. As long as this sense of self (Asmita) persists, one will inevitably be occupied with three categories: objects, people, and thoughts. Since one cannot simply dismiss these as long as the ego exists, the solution lies in applying 'Vivek' or discernment.
