Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the truth is not a collection of sentences or words that need to be memorized. When one listens to spiritual discourse, the message appeals directly to the formless and wordless essence within. The ego accepts silence through these words, and the listener's own inherent silence is verified and re-confirmed. Because the central message is simple—to stay true and remain in peace—there is no need for the memory to store complexities. Only complex things require memorization, whereas fundamental truths, like one's own existence, are known without effort. He further clarifies that spirituality is not about performing artificial actions like 'unconditional love' or 'karma yoga' as imposed roles. Such practices often become a way to avoid facing one's own internal state. Spirituality is not a substitute for intelligence; rather, it is being beyond normal intelligence. He critiques the various workshops and retreats that sell complicated methods, identifying the search for truth through these external means as a form of illusion or Maya. Regarding responsibility, Acharya Prashant asserts that it is a redundant concept for one who is centered. When a person is 'the right one' and is centered in themselves, every action they perform is naturally responsible. One does not need to think about being responsible or conscious of a duty to act rightly. The thought of responsibility only arises when one is displaced from their center. When one is truly themselves, they can enjoy the moment, such as having tea, and their actions will inherently be responsible without any conscious effort or thought.
