Acharya Prashant addresses the common human experience of fear and the misconception that its absence leads to arrogance. He clarifies that fear and ego are not opposites; rather, fear and aggression are two sides of the same coin. He explains that those who are afraid are often the ones who intimidate others because they value fear. Using the analogy of a game, he points out that people often attack others' weaknesses because they are afraid of their own similar vulnerabilities. True fearlessness does not lead to ego but to a state of love or peace, which Kabir Saheb refers to as 'Prem Nagar' or 'Amarpur'. In this state, there is neither a victim nor an oppressor. He further explains that fear is deeply linked to the importance we assign to worldly objects and social status. We only fear losing things we consider valuable, yet most of these things are trivial and replaceable. Acharya Prashant asserts that anything truly valuable and eternal, like the Truth or the Self, cannot be taken away by anyone, not even by the Divine. Therefore, fear is often a psychological tool used to maintain a sense of self-importance or to find excitement in a dull life. He encourages moving beyond these 'rubber snakes' of the mind toward something more meaningful and fulfilling than the superficial thrill of fear.
