Description

Acharya Prashant explains the significance of Shri Buddha allowing Mara to take his soul, interpreting it as the surrender of everything that is not the true self. By letting go of possessions, memories, and identity, one is left with a beautiful nothingness or 'anattā'. This act of giving away everything unburdens the individual from the obligation of preserving a false self, allowing life to happen spontaneously without fear or botheration. A Buddha welcomes being 'looted' of these burdens because they are not his true nature.
