Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the school and hospital industries thrive because they exploit man's deepest biological tendencies for physical continuation and procreation. Nature relies on the survival of the body and the production of more bodies, making education and healthcare the two areas where people are most easily looted of their resources. Even highly intelligent individuals lose their rationality when it comes to their children or their health because nature hits them where they are most attached. These precious resources, which should be invested toward spiritual liberation, are instead wasted on maintaining physical existence. He emphasizes that there is no virtue in merely continuing to live if one is not working toward liberation, as a life without love for the Truth is compared to a graveyard. He further discusses how human habits, such as poor eating, stem from a misplaced search for liberation in worldly objects. Unlike animals who instinctively know their food, humans identify with everything and seek ultimate satisfaction in sensory pleasures like food. He asserts that instead of trying to regulate habits through external rules, one must realize that worldly desires cannot provide the liberation the soul truly seeks. By understanding that 'this is not that'—meaning sensory gratification is not the ultimate Truth—one loses fascination for harmful distractions. He concludes that one must create mechanisms for constant remembrance to avoid being robbed of their real work, which is liberation.
