Description

Acharya Prashant explains the profound meaning behind the couplet regarding the resilience of the virtuous and the fragility of the wicked. He uses the metaphor of a tree to illustrate that as long as a plant is connected to its root or source, it possesses an inherent life force that allows it to regenerate even if its leaves or branches are removed. This 'root' represents the original source or the Truth. A person who is connected to this source does not fear being broken because they understand that what is essential and true can never be destroyed. Such individuals, referred to as 'Sadhus' or the virtuous, are like gold that can be melted and reshaped a hundred times without losing its essence. They are even willing to let their external attributes, such as appearance, behavior, and body, be broken because they have deep faith in the eternal and indestructible nature of the Self.
