Acharya Prashant addresses the inquiry regarding Shri Ramana Maharshi's teaching that there is no fundamental difference between the dream and waking states. He explains that for an individual identified with fragmented consciousness, these states appear distinct, much like moving between different rooms in a house. However, from the perspective of a saint who stands outside the boundaries of this 'house' of consciousness, the waking, dreaming, and deep sleep states are all part of the same bondage. Whether one is in the drawing room or the bedroom, they remain confined within the four walls of the ego. Even death, represented as the lawn of the house, does not provide liberation as it still occurs within the same boundaries.
