Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the human body is a physical and material entity. According to the laws of nature, only material substances such as air, food, or chemicals can enter a physical body. He argues that if deities were to enter a body, they would also have to be physical entities existing within this world. However, this would mean they are subject to the limitations of the material world, such as aging, illness, and death. Since deities are traditionally viewed as immortal and unchanging, they cannot be part of the physical world and, consequently, cannot enter a human body. He further clarifies that anything that can enter our life or body must be part of the same world we inhabit. He defines the world as anything the mind can imagine or perceive. The phenomenon of being possessed by a deity is described as a purely mental occurrence rather than a physical reality. Acharya Prashant points out that such incidents are common in societies where these superstitions are prevalent but are non-existent in scientifically advanced societies. This suggests that the experience is a product of pre-existing beliefs rather than an external spirit entering the body. Finally, Acharya Prashant emphasizes that experiences are often deceptive and are shaped by one's beliefs. If a person firmly believes in something, they may start to experience it as a reality, even if it has no factual basis. He warns that the mind often becomes a victim of its own delusions and creates its own traps. Therefore, a person of true understanding does not take subjective experiences seriously, recognizing that the mind is often trapped in its own web of illusions.
