Description

Acharya Prashant explains that going against oneself is difficult because the ego finds spirituality to be insanity. He asserts that only love can overpower the pull of material and mental pleasures, as love provides the necessary madness to pursue realization. Without love, there is no logical reason to endure the hardships and discipline required for liberation, especially since liberation is not a tangible object or goal that the mind can easily justify. He emphasizes that love for freedom is uncaused and self-evident; it cannot be manufactured through logic or coercion. To allow love to blossom, one must break away from the routine of life, which is designed to prevent love from emerging. Acharya Prashant suggests that the inner state and the outer environment are deeply connected. Therefore, to change the inner self, one must be willing to change their outer circumstances, company, and experiences. By stepping out of the cocoon of safety and making oneself available to new and even threatening experiences, the barriers against love are weakened, allowing for the transformation of the experiencer who is currently suffering.
