Description

Acharya Prashant explains that human beings live in deep ignorance, unaware of both their hidden tendencies and the ultimate truth. He distinguishes between the 'unknown' and the 'unknowable.' Hidden tendencies are unknown to us but surface periodically; however, their emergence should not be mistaken for a spiritual experience. For instance, a new emotional or physical sensation is merely the manifestation of latent biological tendencies rather than a transcendental event. True divinity or reality does not provide new experiences but instead liberates an individual from the cycle of old experiences and grants peace. Liberation is the cessation of experiences, not a new experience in itself. He further critiques the nature of most contemporary music, stating that it is often designed to stimulate dormant emotions and romantic fantasies rather than provide spiritual freedom. Such music acts as a substitute for unfulfilled desires and further entangles the mind in worldly noise. Acharya Prashant points out that much of the modern music industry exploits primal instincts, such as lust, to sell content. In contrast, he highlights that only specific types of music, such as classical music or the verses of saints, possess the quality to cut through bonds. He concludes that the most effective combination for spiritual growth is the union of classical music with the words of saints, as it originates from a state of meditation and leads toward liberation.
