Description

Acharya Prashant explains that being an apparent cause, or nimitta-matra, means that one's center of operation is no longer the personal ego. Instead, the personal system is governed by an impersonal power far beyond itself. Usually, the body-mind complex is commanded by the ego, which is an improper master because it is dependent on and identified with the body. Because the ego is identified with the body, it cannot push the body toward great endeavors or missions that do not serve bodily interests. It will only tolerate actions that beautify or better the body, but it will never surrender the body to a purpose that disregards physical comfort or personal stories.
