Acharya Prashant responds to a question about his teaching on the number 1,23,456, where the real art is to remove the '1' to solve the problem. He explains that the '1' is the very entity that keeps one's attention focused on the trivial issues, represented by '5' and '6'. He reiterates that one must attack the '1', as getting entangled with '5' and '6' is a futile effort. The '1' is right in front of us; it is the one that keeps us entangled and, for its own protection, creates false challenges. To illustrate this, he uses the analogy of a 'Chakravyuha' (a circular military formation). The general, representing the core problem ('1'), is protected at the center, while the outer circles ('6', '5', etc.) are filled with low-ranking soldiers. Attacking on the same level means getting stuck fighting these outer layers, which is a waste of energy and a defeat in itself. The solution is not a ground attack but an 'air attack,' which he equates with spirituality. This means raising one's level of consciousness. From a higher level, one can see the entire formation and the general at the center, allowing for a direct attack on the core issue. Once the general is defeated, the rest of the army scatters. The '1' is the commander who has created this entire formation of problems. He concludes that most of life's entanglements are worthless. A person becomes small when their life is dominated by small issues. Because of these trivialities, one can never see the bigger picture. Therefore, it is essential to learn to neglect the small matters, which has become a crucial spiritual discipline in a world full of distractions.
