Description

Acharya Prashant explains that common religious practices often focus on regulating the body or mind to achieve stillness, but Shri Krishna labels such pretentious individuals as 'mithyachari' or fake ones. He clarifies that peace lies in adhering to one's true nature, which is nothingness or empty space. Since the body and mind are material, they are governed by the laws of nature and are constantly in motion; therefore, attempting to force them into stillness is both impossible and a sign of self-deception. The ego, which lacks self-knowledge, wrongly identifies with the body and mind, leading to suffering and a desire for control. True stillness is not a physical or mental state but the realization that one is the uninvolved space in which all movement occurs. Spirituality is described not as a practice of control or discipline, but as an act of letting go and non-interference. Acharya Prashant emphasizes that the body and mind belong to nature (Prakriti) and possess their own intelligence to function without the ego's intervention. He suggests that when movement is free from personal desire and the 'somebodyness' of the ego, it becomes a beautiful, spontaneous dance. Real immortality and peace are achieved by disidentifying from the mortal and the changeable. He encourages a life of faith and courage, where one withdraws from the role of the 'controller' and allows life to flow naturally, much like the spontaneous and unscripted behavior of animals or a dancing leaf.
