Description

Acharya Prashant explains that renunciation is characterized by single-minded devotion to the Lord and complete indifference to everything contrary to it. In daily living, a devoted person may walk and live among others, but their heart remains elsewhere. While the mind may not know the specific address of its real home, it possesses a certain faith and a constant feeling that a home exists and is calling. This individual is not swayed by the trivia of daily life, excitement, or future promises, as they cannot give ultimate importance to anything relative. They act beautifully and do what is necessary without apathy, yet they avoid excessive or unnecessary actions because they have no vested interests or hope for gain from the world. Observers may feel two contrasting things: that the person does not belong to the marketplace of civilization, like a child separated from a mother, and simultaneously that they are deeply rooted in existence, belonging to the world as naturally as the sun, stars, and rivers.
