Renunciation
Description

Acharya Prashant explains that a mind claiming to be detached from the world due to suffering is not truly detached. Often, what people call renunciation is merely a reaction to failure, defeat, or pain. Such a state is temporary and lacks truth or liberation because the underlying desire for pleasure remains intact. If the same world were to offer success and happiness again, the mind would immediately return to its old patterns. This form of detachment is just an escape from pain, and since the seeker still craves pleasure, they remain trapped in a cycle where pleasure and pain are two sides of the same coin. True liberation is not found in the opposite of pain, which is pleasure, but in rising above both.
