Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the concept of sexual liberation is a misnomer because bondage does not reside in the body or sex, but in the mind. True liberation is the freedom of the mind from its internal bondages. He argues that the mind directs the senses, such as the eyes, and therefore, any talk of liberation must address the mind that controls these actions. The current trend of dating apps and behaviors like ghosting are symptoms of mental instability and a lack of inner fulfillment. He suggests that when the mind is disturbed, it manifests in various forms of madness, particularly in relationships and sexual behavior, which are often driven by sexual frustration and deep-seated complexes. He further discusses that the rise in such behaviors is not a new phenomenon but a visible explosion of long-standing internal filth that was previously hidden due to fear. This occurs because society lacks a spiritual foundation. Acharya Prashant posits that human beings are composed of body and consciousness. If one does not experience the joys of consciousness, they will inevitably seek the pleasures of the body to fill the void. However, physical pleasure is superficial and temporary, akin to scratching an itch, and cannot provide lasting satisfaction. As self-knowledge and spirituality decline, mental instability and erratic behavior will continue to increase in all spheres of life. Addressing the comparison between dating apps and prostitution, Acharya Prashant redefines prostitution as the act of using the body solely for the purpose of maintaining the body, without any higher purpose in life. He asserts that this is not limited to any specific gender or location but is pervasive in society, including offices and homes, whenever someone sells their physical labor or presence just for survival without a noble goal. Similarly, the prevalence of extramarital affairs in modern cities is attributed to the same lack of higher purpose and spiritual dryness. When people lead hollow lives focused only on money and mundane jobs, they turn to physical distractions as a form of intoxication to escape their internal desert.
