In response to a question about the source of his passion, Acharya Prashant explains that he does not perceive himself as having any special passion. He states that while the questioner sees 'so much passion' or 'special passion', he himself does not even feel an ordinary passion. His actions, whether speaking in a session or cooking a meal, are performed with a simple ease. The only special preparations for a session are wearing a kurta and combing his hair; otherwise, everything is as simple and easy in the moment as it was hours before. He clarifies that his life is not driven by momentary emotional surges. Acharya Prashant elaborates that he is mindful of practicalities like time, as a human's time is limited, but this does not create any special feeling or tension. He lives with an ease (sahajta), and if any challenges arise, he knows he must fulfill his dharma (righteous duty) without complaint. He describes his state as one of 'nirvikalpata' (a state without alternatives), where there is no place for passion. He explains that passion is needed by those who have an internal conflict with the work they are doing; if you don't want to do what you are doing, you need to motivate yourself with passion. Since he has accepted his work as his destiny (niyati), there is no internal opposition that would require such a surge. He concludes by differentiating between passion and dharma. Passion, he says, is a momentary state, an excess of energy and enthusiasm that is unsustainable for lifelong work. It is like a brief surge that cannot take one far. In contrast, a life dedicated to truth must be lived with ease (sahajta). This sustained, lifelong work can only be accomplished through dharma, not through fleeting passion or emotion. He is simply doing what is necessary, just as he was doing ten years ago, and this is how his life continues to move forward.
