Description

Acharya Prashant explains that 'Niyat Karma' refers to actions performed to reach one's destiny, which he defines as liberation, bliss, clarity, and simplicity. He asserts that these states are our true destiny because their absence causes constant restlessness and struggle. Tamas, or ignorance, is described as the state of being in the wrong place and refusing to move, effectively settling into a false sense of reality. He clarifies that being a householder is not an inherent obstacle to spirituality or liberation if it simply means having relationships with family members. However, it becomes a barrier if one makes household duties, children, or a spouse the absolute center of their existence, elevating them to the status of divinity or ultimate truth. He emphasizes that spirituality does not forbid marriage or having children, but it warns against the delusion of equating worldly roles with the supreme truth. For instance, if a woman considers her kitchen a temple or her husband as God, she closes the door to actual spiritual progress. Conversely, being a householder can be seen as a unique opportunity. Instead of using family life as an excuse for spiritual stagnation, one can use it as a platform to lead others toward truth and wisdom. A householder has the chance to not only seek their own liberation but also to uplift their family members and guide them toward a more meaningful and sensible life.
