Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the desire to attain the Supreme Element or God is fundamentally an extension of the ego. He asserts that all desires, whether for material wealth or spiritual liberation, stem from the same root of accumulation and self-enhancement. The speaker argues that the concept of separation from the Divine is a linguistic illusion; since we have words for 'separation' and 'God', we mistakenly believe they are tangible objects that can be experienced or bridged. He clarifies that Truth is not something to be found or attained because it is already present when the thinking mind and its dictionary of concepts are absent. He further discusses the nature of spiritual inquiry, stating that in spirituality, there are no 'right' or 'right' questions as there are in science or mathematics. Questions are merely excuses to begin a dialogue, but the real essence lies in listening and the dissolution of the questioner's ego. Acharya Prashant emphasizes that the 'I' cannot experience the 'Thou' (the Divine) because the 'I' is inherently limited and ego-centric. To truly say 'Thou' requires a complete surrender where the individual 'I' ceases to exist. He critiques the common understanding of love and prayer, noting that what people call love is often just desire, and prayer is frequently an attempt to use God as a helper to fulfill personal goals. True spiritual love and surrender involve the melting away of the seeker, leaving only the Divine.
