Acharya Prashant explains that the ego and illusion, or Maya, recognize a genuine threat when they encounter truth. He observes that those who avoid his books, videos, or sessions often understand the power of his message better than those who engage with them, as their avoidance stems from a fear of the ego's destruction. The ego knows it is false and that its end is near, so it employs emergency tactics like avoidance and distraction to postpone its inevitable dissolution. While these tactics might work temporarily, they result in wasted time, which can stretch from months into years as one slips further away from the truth. Acharya Prashant notes that this conflict is a predictable pattern that has always existed. He uses the metaphor of two wolves fighting within a person to illustrate that the outcome depends entirely on which side the individual chooses to support. Maya has no power of its own; it survives only on the energy and support provided by the individual. Therefore, the only way to overcome this illusion is to actively choose the higher path and engage in open communication rather than retreating into avoidance.
