Acharya Prashant explains that Shri Krishna employs three distinct levels of argumentation to persuade Arjun to fulfill his duty. Having already discussed the eternal Soul and the nature of the Ego-tendency without success, Shri Krishna shifts to the third level: the personal ego and physical identity associated with social duty, specifically the Kshatriya Dharma. He explains that a teacher must often descend to the student's level of consciousness, using grosser arguments like the lure of heaven or the fear of infamy when higher philosophical truths are not grasped. This approach demonstrates that for an individual driven by fear and greed, these very traits must be utilized to steer them toward the right path.
