Acharya Prashant asserts that it is impossible to be spiritual while consuming animals because spirituality is rooted in complete awareness and non-fragmentation. A spiritual person understands the origin of their food and cannot remain blind to the violence on their plate. He suggests that if one were to look into the eyes of an animal during slaughter, they would see their own deep innocence reflected back, making the act of killing impossible. He explains that the animal outside is a reflection of the suppressed animal nature within humans, which is often buried under social conditioning and intellectual layers. Therefore, violence toward animals is ultimately violence toward oneself, as humans are fundamentally connected to the universe and nature.
