Acharya Prashant explains that the common mind is programmed to see diversity and duality, accepting the world of changing forms as reality. However, an authentic and honest mind seeks a truth that is not time-dependent and does not disappear. Dattatreya represents this authentic mind, which rejects anything fleeting as unreal. By finding the commonality of unreality in all diverse objects, one reaches the root of the ego. Since the branches of the world are false, the root of the ego must also be false. Total forgetfulness of this falseness is what remains as the pure self.
