Acharya Prashant explains that while God provides for the basic needs of all living beings, He does not fulfill the demands of the human ego. Animals live according to nature and do not hoard for status, which is why they generally do not face the kind of destitution humans do. The speaker clarifies that human suffering, such as starvation in certain regions, is not caused by a lack of resources provided by God but by human greed, hoarding, and the ego's desire for profit. There is an abundance of food in the world, but it is often wasted or withheld to maintain market prices, making humans responsible for the misery of others. The speaker further notes that humans have become competitors to God rather than His followers. Unlike animals, who reproduce and die according to natural laws, human population growth and the refusal to accept death are driven by egoistic planning. This leads to an imbalance where humans dominate the earth at the expense of all other species. Acharya Prashant emphasizes that God is helpless in the face of the ego because the ego refuses to acknowledge any master other than itself. Therefore, the lack of fulfillment in human life is a result of the ego's own resistance to divine grace. Regarding personal suffering, Acharya Prashant asserts that suffering is never God's will. While physical pain, disease, and death are natural phenomena, suffering is a psychological construct of the ego. God, being Truth-Consciousness-Bliss, does not dispense worldly joys or sorrows; these are human inventions. He warns against seeking sympathy for suffering, as the ego often uses its pain to manipulate or influence others. True liberation comes from realizing that one is responsible for their own suffering and that the ego is the sole consumer of both worldly pleasure and pain.
