Description

Acharya Prashant explains that humans are like Arjun, trapped in their emotions, past, and physical existence, which causes them to forget their duty. He asserts that the concepts of good and evil are relative to a perceiver, and in the universe itself, neither exists. The only true evil is the separate self or the 'I' that perceives itself as an independent entity. This 'I' is unnecessary and non-existent, yet it feels real and attempts to define morality to ensure its own safety and relevance. While the universe is composed of nature, the 'I' is hollow and merely uses nature to fill itself, attaching to whatever remains in existence. He further clarifies that in the natural order of the universe, everything has a definite place and role except for the 'I'. The 'I' makes an unworthy demand for a role in a system where it is irrelevant. Therefore, the only legitimate task for this unnecessary self is to work toward its own obliteration. Spirituality is defined as giving this 'evil' self the right action to perform, which is self-destruction. By working to remove itself, the 'I' fulfills the only purpose it can have, rather than engaging in self-serving actions that keep it alive and kicking.
