Description

Acharya Prashant explains that Shri Krishna, in the Bhagavad Gita, describes the self as the indestructible foundation of the world, negating the concept of a creator god. He clarifies that the world exists as a pair of subject and object for the ego, whereas the self is non-dual and unknowable to the ego. The world is a projection of the ego's own incompleteness and forgetfulness of its true nature. Because the ego is finite and destructible, the world it projects is also finite and perishable. Vedanta teaches that the world is a choice and a responsibility of the individual, rather than a divine creation.
